'We've also had some offers from people who want to donate food which we really appreciate. Alongside our dinners we'll be preparing all the rest on Christmas Day so people can pick them up whilst the food is still fresh. Tia continued: 'We're doing starters too so we'll start making the soup on Christmas Eve then get the meat cooking too. With a lot of preparation to do, the couple are already organising how they'll make the dinners on Christmas Eve and on the big day. She said that without the support from neighbours or families, they would 'heat up a tin of soup' for their Christmas dinner and eat it alone. One of Tia and James' previous Christmas Dinnersĭuring her time as a support worker, Tia noticed the important role that neighbours have in helping out vulnerable and elderly people especially at Christmas. Tia added: 'I didn't think the post would go this far! We hope to get more people involved and continue this every year, if people do their part then no one should be hungry or alone on Christmas Day.'

The young couple have had an influx on support on social media with people offering to help they hope to continue this annually from now on.

She added:'There's only two of us in the house who will eat a full dinner so we want to be able to share it with others. Tia added that her and James 'love to cook' so they came up with the idea to provide others with a hot meal on Christmas Day with all the trimmings for them to enjoy. She said: 'Lots of people spend Christmas alone for various reasons whether it be they're elderly, don't have any family close or are unable to cook their own dinner due to medical conditions. Tia Evans, 21, and 26 year old James Smith, from Hartlepool, are cooking 11 Christmas Dinners 'up to now' for people in their community and hope to stretch that number to 20.
